The Brief

To convince the clients that Ireland is a top class destination for high-end Incentive and Conference Programs.

The Highlights

This was quite a challenge for Odyssey in August 2010. These well travelled, sophisticated Buyers, many of whom had never been to Ireland, had to be convinced that we had here a world class destination.

The Irish Pipers at the airport struck a welcoming chord as the guests were whisked away to a fabulous seafood lunch overlooking the Irish Sea. Luxury motor boats cruised with the guests into Dublin Bay and then upriver to the city where we went on our famous ‘Stroll around Dublin’ visiting some selected food stores, little-known landmarks and a traditional Dublin pub.

The Four Seasons, located in Dublin’s prestigious Ballsbridge, featured an arrival with a culinary theme and that evening the private bar in the Old Jameson Distillery was the location for a splendid dinner with industry friends and fantastic Irish music and sing-along.

Sunshine and blue skies greeted the group the following day at Luttrellstown Castle – as did the Irish Wolfhounds and the Castle falconer striking a mediaeval theme. An array of activities was on offer but the highlight of the day was the magnificent lunch provided by artisan food producers from all over Ireland, in the walled garden of the Castle with music provided by the Café Orchestra and the splendid Artane Band provided a ceremonial marching display.

The beautifully restored Castletown House was the location for an exclusive dinner in the Long Room; candlelight, soft music, superb wines and exquisite food. After dinner, one of Ireland’s leading Tenors, Emmanuel Lawlor flew in from London and enchanted the guests. A spectacular finale arranged in the entrance hall was provided by our high-kicking Celtic Mist dance troupe.
